Lazy Therapy Fees
Session Costs
Therapy Session Cost: A typical 50-minute consultation is priced at $160. Medicare Discounts: When referred and operating under a Mental Health Care Plan (MHCP), the out-of-pocket expense amounts to $74.80. Medicare rebate is $85.20 (effective 01/07/2024) with a referral and a MHCP. Insurance Rebates: Many health insurance plans offer reimbursements for appointments, subject to the specifics of your coverage. To determine if you qualify, please reach out to your insurance provider for confirmation. No Referral: You do not need a referral to access sessions at Lazy Therapy. However, if you do not have a referral, you will not be able to claim relevant rebates for the session costs. Steps to Leverage Medicare Discounts Extended Consultation: Book an in-depth session with your General Practitioner or Psychiatrist to explore and draft a MHCP. Determine Eligibility: Your GP or Psychiatrist will evaluate if you qualify for the Mental Health Plan. By utilising a Mental Health Plan, you gain access to 10 therapeutic sessions per calendar year. This begins with an allowance of six sessions. Following this, Lazy Therapy will relay a status update and insights to your GP or Psychiatrist. Should you need further sessions, an extra four are available.
Secure a Referral: Upon meeting the criteria, ask your GP or Psychiatrist to direct you to 'Graham Barlow at Lazy Therapy.' Initial Consultation Prep: Please ensure you have the referral (MHCP) and your Medicare card for your first meeting. Appointment Rescheduling Guidelines Life's unpredictability may occasionally require you to adjust scheduled appointments. We kindly request at least 24 hours' notice for rescheduling to manage our client services efficiently. Missed sessions impact not just your progress but also limit availability for others in need of assistance. To avoid incurring a $50 fee associated with no-shows or late rescheduling, I request providing a 24-hour advance notice.
